Have a car-selling-related question?  We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • How long is my offer valid?

Our offers remain valid for 10 days or 500 miles, whichever comes first. In most cases, if additional time is needed, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • Can you come to my home or office for an appraisal?

Yes, we can visit your home or office to appraise and purchase your vehicle. However, we only schedule visits for those ready to sell and do not offer appraisal-only appointments.

  • How do I receive payment for my vehicle?

At Nico Buys Cars, we emphasize transparency and security in every transaction. All payments are made through company checks.

  • Can I cash my check directly?

No, as part of our fraud prevention measures, our company checks cannot be cashed and must be deposited into your bank account.

  • Where can I deposit my check?

All checks are issued through Capital Bank. While you can deposit the check at any bank, Capital Bank branch locations include:

    • Bethesda Branch: 4400 East-West Highway, Suite 100, Bethesda, MD 20814
    • Rockville Branch: 2275 Research Blvd, Suite 600, Rockville, MD 20850
    • Silver Spring Branch: 8361 B Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910
  • What if I still owe money on my car?

If your loan balance exceeds our offer, the difference is considered negative equity. If you have remaining positive equity, we will obtain a 14-day payoff and issue you the difference in a check immediately. However, if there is negative equity, you will be responsible for covering the remaining amount via check, cash, or credit card.

  • How do I cover my negative equity?

If your car’s payoff amount exceeds the offer, you will need to cover the difference. This can be done via check, cash, or credit card. We will assist you with processing the payment to ensure a seamless transaction.

  • How do I schedule an appraisal?

You can request an appraisal by calling us at 301.260.6426 or submitting a request through our website.

  • Do I need an appointment to sell my car?

You don't need an appointment to have your vehicle appraised at our office. However, if you'd like us to come to you, an appointment must be scheduled at least one day in advance.
